Once an innocent birthday gathering at the beautiful Hickory Hills country club in Chilton, Evan’s Charity Golf Outing has transformed into a massive outpouring of support and goodwill. It all started one day when Evan got to thinking about the vast number of charities out there, and how relatively few of them funneled any money to those who fought for our freedom.
As a proud business owner, husband, and father, Evan appreciates the fact that we have rights in this country that aren’t easily attained in other places. Those freedoms, which are all too often taken for granted, are protected by the fine men and women willing to risk everything for their fellow countrymen. With that in mind, Evan’s Charity Golf Outing was established on Father’s Day weekend 2014, with the mission of raising money to support a local veteran in need.
That first year, the outing was advertised only by word-of-mouth, but friends and family came from across the state to show their support and have a good time. Every year since then, the outing has continued to grow as news of it has spread; we now see people from across the continent show up on an annual basis. Each year the goal is to raise more money for local veterans than the previous, and we’ve been incredibly fortunate to achieve that thus far. It is a truly humbling experience to hand these veterans cash at the end of the outing, and we appreciate each and every person who has been gracious enough to donate to and participate in Evan’s Charity Golf Outing to date. This year we are hoping to have enough golfers to close the course to the public, so be sure to join in the fun if you’re able to!
Please consider joining us this year, either by participating in the outing or by becoming a sponsor (or both). Trust us: no golf experience is necessary and a good time is guaranteed! If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, the next outing is scheduled for June 15, 2024. We always appreciate cash for prizes or drinks, or prizes themselves for the post-golf door-prize extravaganza (swag with your company logo on it makes for a win-win here).
